Tutorial: Easiest Way To Overcome Depression
A Sacred Call to Deep Rest
“Depression is not laziness. It’s your spirit pulling you inward, asking for something deeper — silence, softness, and realignment.”
💬 A Gentle Welcome
Hi, I’m Antonina. I’ve moved through deep waves of heaviness that looked like depression — times when nothing made sense, and even the smallest tasks felt impossible. What helped me wasn’t “pushing through,” but learning to listen.
This isn’t a quick fix. But it is a gentle process — a way to meet yourself in the quiet, honour the need beneath the sadness, and begin to rise, slowly and tenderly.
Let’s begin.
🔹 STEP 1: Permission to Pause — “Nothing Is Wrong With Me”
🧠 Why This Matters:
Depression often feels like something is broken. But the truth is: you are slowing down for a reason. Denying that need deepens the pain.
✅ What To Do:
- Sit or lie down.
- Place one hand over your heart.
- Whisper: “I give myself permission to stop. I am not broken. I am becoming.”
- Breathe in for 4 counts, breathe out for 6. Do this 3 times.
Quick Win: You’ve shifted from resistance to softness. That’s already healing.
🔹 STEP 2: Name the Need Beneath — “What Is My System Asking For?”
🧠 Why This Matters:
Depression is often your body and soul crying for something: rest, silence, truth, safety, change.
✅ What To Do:
- Use this gentle prompt: “If my depression could speak, it would say: ‘Please, I need __.’”
- Common responses:
- “I need everything to stop for a while.”
- “I need more nature and less noise.”
- “I need to be held, seen, or not pretend anymore.”
Tool: Write this in a notebook. Even one clear need is a doorway to relief.
🔹 STEP 3: Nourish Your Nervous System — “Small Acts of Care”
🧠 Why This Matters:
When depressed, even basic self-care feels like a mountain. So we shrink it: the goal is one small, loving act.
✅ What To Do:
- Choose one tiny action right now:
- Drink a glass of water slowly.
- Step outside and feel the air for 2 minutes.
- Rub oil or lotion on your hands.
- Light a candle and breathe with it for 60 seconds.
- Play one calming song.
Quick Win: You did one thing. That’s enough. Let your body feel the safety of even this small shift.
🔹 STEP 4: Reconnect to Safe Truth — “What’s One Thing I Know?”
🧠 Why This Matters:
Depression clouds clarity. Your mind lies to you. But even in fog, one small truth can anchor you.
✅ What To Do:
- Ask yourself: “What’s one soft, true thing I know — about myself or life — even now?”
- Examples:
- “I’ve survived dark times before.”
- “I’m not alone, even if it feels like it.”
- “I don’t have to figure it all out today.”
- “This is a season. It won’t last forever.”
- Write or speak this truth. Hold it like a warm stone in your hand.
🔹 STEP 5: Set a Gentle Rhythm — “One Small Thing Per Day”
🧠 Why This Matters:
Healing doesn’t mean jumping back into hustle. It means building trust with your energy. Small rhythm = steady hope.
✅ What To Do:
- Pick one loving anchor for your day:
- Wake up and open the window.
- Stretch for 1 minute before bed.
- Write down one thing you’re grateful for.
- Text someone you trust: “Thinking of you.”
- Repeat this anchor daily for one week. Let that be enough.
Tool: Use a “deep rest tracker” — not to push, but to honor yourself.
